Why doesn't the sea flood the earth?
We all know that the water covers 75% of the planet, the other 25% it is earth.
The oceanic level stays constant thanks to the continuous evaporation to the one that this subjected one the water of the seas.
However, if the temperature of the polar caps increases some grades, the ice there accumulated during thousands of years he/she would begin to melt.
This would cause an ascent of the level of the waters to you limit catastrophic for the humanity.
This is since one of the reasons for the one that we worry about the global heating so much, if this ended up happening it could be the humanity's end.
